Qu Makes Mixing Feel Natural

Massive processing power and advanced functionality counts for nothing if you can’t access the controls you need in a heartbeat.

Qu-16 has a fader per mono input channel and fewer fader layers for simpler, quicker workflow. Because every mic input is presented on its own fader for fast, easy control, this makes Qu-16 the perfect mixer for first-time converts from analogue to digital and those not comfortable working with several layers of faders.

The True Colour Touchscreen and its dedicated rotary encoder form the heart of Qu-16’s interface, providing super-fast access to all settings and parameters. Dedicated keys and screen tabs quickly guide you to meter and RTA views, FX racks, channel processing, USB audio control, scenes, setup menus and much more.

Complementing the touchscreen is the SuperStrip – a set of single-function physical controls for instant access to gain, HPF, 4 band PEQ, gate, compressor, GEQ and pan.

Coming from analogue? Qu will make you feel at home.

Capture Every Detail
Qu has been designed from the ground up to deliver professional sound quality, from input to output.

Qu-16 features sixteen AnalogiQ digitally controlled preamps with advanced zero-crossing detection and a padless 1dB-step gain stage.

The AnalogiQ preamp design has been refined to offer superb transparency, minimal distortion and an ultra-low noise floor, with a warm, musical sound that is missing from some digital consoles.

The analogue signal is captured by high-class, low latency 24bit analogue to digital converters, which are matched to 24bit digital to analogue converters to deliver the required high quality output.

World Class Processing & FX

Qu’s RackFX dynamics and FX algorithms are derived from those used in our pro touring series.

Some of the world’s most respected audio engineers have chosen to use RackFX on tour in preference to top-end plug-ins and external FX units.

Qu boasts 4 stereo RackFX engines, featuring lovingly crafted emulations of legendary classic reverbs, gated reverbs, delays, modulators, flangers and more. FX are returned to the mix on dedicated return channels, so you’re not tying up your mono and stereo input channels, and each Stereo FX Return has a dedicated 4 band PEQ.

Record. Stream. Mix.

With its built-in audio interface, Qu-16 can record up to 24 tracks to your Mac or PC, and returns from the computer can be easily assigned to the Input channels of the mixer.

Standard MIDI control is sent over the USB and network connections, this can be mapped to the faders of your favourite DAW using our MIDI Control app which provides easy setup and emulation of HUI or Mackie Control protocols.

Want to livestream? Easy. Just send a stereo mix over USB and your streaming software will do the rest.

Qu-Drive
Record without a computer

Qu has an integrated multitrack USB recorder, providing 18 channels of 48kHz, 24bit recording and playback straight to / from your USB key or hard drive.

Capturing multitrack recordings of your shows has never been so easy. A selectable stereo pair can be recorded alongside the 16 Mono channels, and multitrack audio can be played back to the 16 Mono inputs plus ST1.

On top of this, Qu-Drive also provides stereo recording patchable from any pair of Mix outputs, the Main LR (pre, post, or summed to mono) or even the PAFL bus, with 2- track stereo playback to ST3.

AMM
Automatic Mic Mixer

AMM is vital in applications such as conferences, meetings and panel discussions where a number of microphones are open at the same time.

Reducing background noise and minimising the risk of feedback, the Automatic Microphone Mixer helps the engineer to manage the levels of multiple mic inputs, ensuring that each speaker’s contribution is heard clearly.

The D-Classic dynamic gain sharing algorithm is inspired by industry standard automixers. Up to 16 microphone sources can be mixed at once, with each channel having a priority setting which determines its ‘weight’ in the total system gain.

Spesifikasi Allen & Heath Qu-24 24-Channel Digital Mixer
Allen & Heath Qu-24 24-Channel Digital Mixer
With its responsive touchscreen, 25 motor faders and acclaimed AnalogiQ recallable preamps, Qu-24 combines exceptional ease of use with class-leading audio performance. Drawing on the technologies and workflow pioneered on our GLD and iLive touring systems, Qu makes Allen & Heath digital mixing more accessible and more compact than ever.

AnalogIQ Preamps
Qu-24’s twenty-four AnalogiQ total recall preamps feature zero crossing detection and an advanced padless 1dB step gain stage, closely allied to the DSP for optimal gain accuracy and audio transparency. The analog signal is captured by high-class, low-latency 24-bit analog to digital converters matched to high-quality 24-bit digital to analog converters to deliver the required outputs. The AnalogiQ design has been refined over many months to offer superb transparency, minimal distortion and an ultra-low noise floor, with a warm, musical sound that is missing from some digital consoles.

The Mixing Experience
Having massive processing power and advanced functionality is great, but it counts for nothing if you can’t access the controls you need in a heartbeat. Once you start using Qu-24, you’ll sense the years of research into ergonomics and the hands-on mixing experience that the Allen & Heath team has drawn upon to deliver a wonderfully natural layout and workflow. It’s not about recreating an analog interface. It’s about creating an experience that’s fluid, comfortable and intuitive for novices, digital natives and old school road warriors alike, making all the benefits of digital mixing technology readily accessible to all.

Touch Control
The 800 x 480, sixteen-million color Touchscreen and its dedicated data encoder form the heart of the Qu interface, providing super-fast, easy access to all settings. The user-friendly interface has been designed with clarity in mind. Dedicated keys and screen tabs quickly guide you to meter and RTA views, FX racks, channel processing, USB audio control, scenes, setup menus and much more.

The Superstrip
All your key processing tools are presented in a clean layout on the SuperStrip, with one function per physical control. The SuperStrip is complemented by an onscreen Touch Channel for intuitive access to full processing parameters without clutter or complex menu structures. Processing for Mono and Stereo inputs includes trim, polarity, HPF, gate, insert, 4-band PEQ, compressor and delay. The main LR and the Mono mixes have controls for Insert, 1/3-octave GEQ, compressor and delay. The stereo mixes provide Insert, 4-band PEQ, compressor, delay and balance control.

Fader Automation
Moving faders started as an expensive option in the studio desks of the ’80s, and later became the norm with the advent of digital technology. Nevertheless some entry-level digital mixers lack this precious commodity which is a fundamental part of the Total Recall approach. Fader automation is essential for rapid mixing, especially when you’re dealing with multiple monitor mixes – just press a mix key and the faders immediately fly to the send levels for that mix. Qu-24 features 25 motorized ALPS faders, 24 arranged over two layers, allowing instant access to all channels and masters in a compact space, plus a dedicated master fader which dynamically follows the mix selection. A third, Custom layer is available for ad-hoc user strip layout, where any combination of Inputs, FX Sends, FX Returns and Mix masters can be assigned.

iLive FX
Qu-24’s dynamics and FX algorithms are derived from the FX used in our iLive pro touring series. Some of the world’s most respected audio engineers have chosen to use iLive’s FX on tour in preference to top-end plug-ins and external FX units. Qu-24 boasts four stereo iLive FX engines, featuring lovingly crafted emulations of legendary classic reverbs, gated reverbs, delays, modulators, flangers and more. The FX library has the ability to grow with future firmware releases. FX are returned to the mix on dedicated return channels, so you’re not tying up your mono and stereo input channels. Each Stereo FX Return has a dedicated 4 band PEQ.

Total Recall
True digital mixing is about being able to save and recall scenes (snapshots) at the press of a button. Qu-24 can store up to 100 full Scenes for recall at will. Channels and mixes can be made Safe from Scene recall. For example, if an instrument or mic gets swapped out after the soundcheck, the channel can be made safe to avoid settings being overridden by Scene recalls. Or if a broadcast feed or walk-in iPod is added last-minute before the show kicks off, that mix or channel can be made safe from any scene change. In addition, single parameter updates can be blocked using per scene Recall Filters or a Global Recall Filter. So if you tweak the graphic EQ to reflect the room response when the audience gets in, you can block this to prevent any overwriting at scene change. Custom settings for each EQ, compressor, channel or FX can be saved as Library presets. This lets you store your tried and tested SM58 EQ or reverb pattern and apply it to other channels or shows. Libraries, Scenes and the complete Show configuration can be saved to a USB key, so you can carry the show with you, ready to use on another Qu mixer.

USB Audio Streaming
Qu-24’s built-in interface streams up to 32 selectable tracks to your Mac or PC. The returns from the Mac or PC can be easily assigned to the Input channels. The interface is class-compliant on Mac OS X – truly plug ‘n play. It will be recognized straightaway by any DAW supporting Core Audio, including Logic, Cubase, Reaper, and Pro Tools. An ASIO and WDM compatible driver is available for Windows computers.
Standard MIDI control is tunnelled over the USB connection so you can easily map the faders to the tracks of your favourite DAW. A DAW Control driver is available for easy setup and emulation of HUI or Mackie Control protocols on Mac OS X systems.

Qu-Drive
Forget soundcard drivers and software setup, Qu-24 has an integrated multitrack USB recorder, providing 18 channels of 48kHz/24-bit recording and playback straight to / from your USB hard drive. Capturing stereo or multitrack recordings of your shows has never been so easy. Multitrack audio can be played back to Mono channels 1-18. Stereo files from your hard disk can be played back to ST3.

Armed to the Hilt
Qu-24 is equipped with five cores of high-efficiency ARM core processing, with dedicated ARM cores running the touchscreen display and surface, USB streaming, Qu-Drive multi-channel USB recording / playback, Ethernet and fader automation. Between them the ARM cores provide state-of-the-art processing, working in parallel to deliver extensive control, instant-on operation, and lightning-fast response. The mixer’s DSP farm exploits next generation dual core DSPs. With plenty of DSP power under the hood the channel processing is only using a fraction of capacity, so Qu-24 is future-proofed, with ample room for updates and extra functionality. The Qu DSP architecture employs varied bit depths, tailored to specific algorithms, with 48 bits on critical EQ functions and a 56 bit accumulator on the mix bus where it really counts, allowing every nuance of the audio to be captured in the final mix.

The Shape of Things to Come
Made from 18-gauge, cold-rolled Zintec steel, Qu-24’s distinctive frame is designed for strength and rigidity. Allen & Heath have done unspeakable things to that chassis in the lab and it’s taken everything thrown at it – even being stomped on by their resident ex-tank commander. Silence is a precious commodity in the live or studio environment, which is why nobody wants those moments of stillness ruined by the whirring of fans coming from the mix position. Qu’s sleek profile generates optimal airflow through the mixer, eliminating the need for any fans.

Qu-Pad
Add the Qu-Pad iPad app to your Qu setup and you’re free to adjust the monitors on stage, roam around the venue whilst tweaking the PA, and then mix the show from the heart of the audience. Qu-Pad connects to the mixer over Wi-Fi and gives instant access to all live mixing parameters and settings. Qu-Pad requires the connection of a Wi-Fi router or access point to the Qu-24 Network port.

Me Personal Mixing Station
Qu-24 is fully compatible with our ME Personal Mixing System. Any number of ME-1 personal mixers can be chained from the dSNAKE port (or from an AR2412 Stagebox if you’ve got one connected to the dSNAKE port). Each performer can be given tailored control over their own mix, leaving the engineer free to focus on the audience experience.

DSNAKE
Qu-24 is a self-contained mixer, so if you’ve already got the analog cables you’re good to go. If you’re thinking of trading in the copper multicore for a Cat5 digital snake, Qu-24’s dSNAKE port has you future-proofed, allowing connection to a remote AR2412 or AR84 Stagebox. dSNAKE is Allen & Heath proprietary networking solution, boasting a transport latency of only 105us over cable runs of up to 120m / 390′. So if you’re mixing FoH you can place your I/O on the stage and run a single Cat5 cable back to the Qu-24 in the mix position.

Softkeys
Qu-24 packs 10 SoftKeys for more user-assignable functions such as Mute Groups, Tap Tempo, Scene navigation or PAFL Clear.

4 Groups
Groups 1-4 are typically used as subgroups to LR for level masters and/or processing, for example to compress a drum kit or to tame multiple lavalier microphones with a single graphic equalizer.

The Matrix
Qu-24’s Matrix adds two further stereo outputs equipped with full processing to the console’s extensive I/O. It is a ‘mixer within a mixer,’ fed from any combination of Group 1-4, Mix 1-10, and main LR. It can be used to provide a broadcast feed, a recording mix, or duplicate the main outputs for delay stacks and fill / zone speakers where independent GEQ and delay is applied.

, touchscreen control, 32 AnalogiQ preamps integrated with DSP, instant recall, 33 motorized faders, high-efficiency ARM core processing, studio-grade effects, an integrated multitrack USB recorder, and truckloads more, the Allen & Heath Qu-32 will drastically improve both your workflow and your end product.

Allen & Heath Qu-32 Digital Console at a Glance:

Intuitive – and very comfortable to work on
Touchscreen control speeds up your workflow
AnalogiQ preamps and 24-bit conversion, for warm, musical sound
Total-recall moving-fader automation supercharges your mixing

Intuitive – and very comfortable to work on

Having a mixer with massive processing power and sophisticated functionality is nice, but if you can’t get to the controls you need instantly, it’s all for naught. With the Qu-32, the digital console has evolved to the point where you forget that it’s digital, and just get on with your session, fluidly and efficiently. Without menu diving. Allen & Heath put years of research into ergonomics and the hands-on mixing experience, resulting in digital consoles that deliver a natural, logical layout and workflow. Your most-used processing tools are presented clearly on the SuperStrip, with one function per physical control. Whether you’re a digital novice or coming from years of analog mixing, you’ll find the Qu-32 intuitive – and very comfortable to work on.

Touchscreen control speeds up your workflow

The Allen & Heath Qu-32 rocks a 16-million-color, 800 x 480 touchscreen with an integrated data encoder – the core of a user interface that gives you quick and easy access to all your settings. Designed for clarity, the user-friendly interface has dedicated keys and screen tabs that let you quickly get to your meter and RTA views, effects racks, channel processing, USB audio control, setup menus, scenes, and much more.

AnalogiQ preamps and 24-bit conversion, for warm, musical sound

Allen & Heath fortified the Qu-32 with 32 of their superb AnalogiQ total-recall preamps. Featuring phantom power, zero crossing detection, and a unique padless 1dB-step gain stage, the preamps are married to the DSP for optimum transparency and gain accuracy. The analog signal is captured by high-quality, low-latency 24-bit A-D converters matched to high-grade 24-bit D-A converters. A&H has spent considerable time refining the AnalogiQ design so it gives you stellar transparency, with minimum distortion and a vanishingly low noise floor.

Total-recall moving-fader automation supercharges your mixing

We first saw moving faders on some of the high-end, large-format consoles of the late 1970s. With the advent of digital technology, “flying” faders later became fairly standard, albeit not on entry-level digital mixers. Fader automation is a must-have for efficient mixing, particularly when you’re dealing with multiple monitor mixes. Simply push a mix key and the faders immediately fly to the send levels for that mix. The Qu-32 sports 33 motorized ALPS faders. The 32 channel faders are arranged over two layers, giving you instant access to all your channels and masters in a compact space. There’s also a dedicated master fader which dynamically follows your mix selection. A third (custom) layer is available for the configurable user strip layout, where you can assign any combination of Inputs, FX Sends, FX Returns and Mix masters.

Spesifikasi Allen & Heath ZED 22FX USB Mixer with Effects
Allen & Heath ZED 22FX USB Mixer with Effects
Allen & Heath

16-mono, 3-stereo channel mixer for live sound, recording, and production.

From the Allen & Heath’s ZED series, the ZED-22 FX has been developed around a new FX chipset. Allen & Heath’s DSP engineers crafted and refined beautiful reverb algorithms and the 16 effects they created are unique to the ZED FX mixing consoles. 16 essential time-delay effects add to the already bulging feature set. The mixer is ideal for small groups who don’t want to carry around an effects unit with their gear but who still want great quality FX at their gigs and on their recordings. In addition, you get smooth-sounding DuoPre mic preamps, 100mm faders, and the MusiQ EQ section which are shared with the whole ZED range.

Internal FX

16 separate effects have been crafted into the ZED-FX range. These include Delay and Reverb, Ping-Pong delay, a selection of reverbs with different room/hall/arena properties, a flanger, and a chorus. All have been designed to sweeten your sound with minimal effort. Each of the effects has a parameter which can be altered: pre-delay can be adjusted, room sizes tweaked, and flanger speed dialed-in. 5 of the effects can have their tempo tapped in, and the output auditioned by the FX PFL.

Inputs

One of the great things about the ZED-22FX USB mixer is the number and variety of things you can plug in. In addition to the 16 mono channels, there are 3 dual stereo channels, each with a main stereo input on the jack sockets, and with the ability to take additional stereo inputs from phono sockets, or from the USB audio input. 16 mic/line channels are provided on the ZED-22FX—plenty for mics or DI boxes for a small band, duo, or solo performer, as well as 4 stereo line inputs—dual inputs, both with gain and 2-band EQ.

DuoPre

Based on the proven preamps from their PA series, Allen & Heath’s ZED series mixers have DuoPre preamps which use a 2-stage design, with carefully controlled amounts of gain in each stage. When amplifying the signal from the XLR input, the gain range is huge—69dB of range to be exact—and is very evenly distributed around the gain control, meaning better control of signal level. Most of the gain comes from the first stage, so unwanted noise is kept to a minimum. Line level signals are simply plugged into the second stage of the preamp by using the line input jack socket, which has the great advantage of less noise when using the line input.

EQ section

The ZED-22FX series mixers feature a musical 3-band EQ derived from the acclaimed GL2400 mixer. The design uses MusiQ—optimised slope (or Q factor) for equalizing individual instruments.

Auxiliary sends

4 aux sends are provided, of which 1 & 2 are prefade for foldback monitoring, and 3 & 4 post-fade for effects sends. A stereo signal can be sent from auxes via USB-to-computer to create 2 separate record feeds independent of the main L/R mix (1&2) and or used as FX sends (3&4).

USB audio flexibility

Getting audio to and from a computer easily is now a common requirement for live sound and music production. The way this has been implemented on the ZED-22FX USB mixer is flexible and easy. No longer do you need to fiddle around the back of your PC to get to the soundcard inputs only to find that the levels are all wrong and noisy. Just plug in a USB lead to your mixer, select the USB routing on the mixer and the device on your computer, and that’s it. 3 switches provide different send/return configurations for recording, playback, and utilizing external FX.

Build

The ZED-22FX USB mixer has been designed using individual, vertically mounted circuit boards with each rotary control fixed with a metal nut to the front panel—making a much more robust product that will resist damage and give years of reliable use. It also has professional 100mm faders for ultimate control over your levels.

SONAR LE included

Allen & Heath teamed up with Cakewalk to bundle SONAR LE with the ZED 22-FX mixer. The 2 work together in many ways, from straightforward recording of a stereo mix to recording tracks individually to build up a song, or even for inserting a SONAR LE effects plug-in.

ZED FX Series

ZED FX USB mixers are easily controlled using 3 buttons and 9 LEDs. Quickly tap the ideal delay time or dial in the perfect amount of reverb on the lead vocal. Talk about one-stop navigation and editing, it’s just as easy your average effects pedals. Hold down the TAP button and press the up or down button to alter the effects parameter. For example, on patch (9) Plate, this would adjust the decay length. The ZED-22FX mixer is designed to fulfill all the functions needed for a small band. The layout and features have all been arranged to be logical and instantly recognizable even at a dark gig to make it a mixer you can trust to perform.

The USB audio interface, with its uniquely flexible capability, allows different signals to be sent to USB, from L/R or from selected aux buses. The USB return signal can be routed straight to the L/R mix or to a stereo channel. The connectors are placed on the top surface for easy plugging & patching, and the construction, with individual circuit boards firmly nutted to the top panel, is as rock solid as Allen & Heath’s top-of-the range ML Series mixers.

Allen & Heath CQ 20B Ultra Compact 20 inch 8 out Digital Mixer with Wi-Fi
Mix Smarter. Work Faster. Sound Better.
CQ takes our renowned processing and effects, adds exciting new assistive mixing tools, and packages it all up into our smallest, and most affordable, digital mixer series yet. Every input channel on CQ can be switched between two modes. Quick Channels offer instrument and application specific processing with the ability to dial in a full channel of processing via a single knob. Need more control? Switch to Complete Channels for advanced, in-depth tweaking of parameters. Setting the correct amount of gain for each channel isn’t the most exciting task, and it quickly eats into your setup time with multiple channels to take care of. CQ’s Gain Assistant quickly and accurately sets the optimal gain level for your one or multiple channels and continues to monitor levels during the performance to prevent any nasty peaks or surprises.

CQ introduces a new suite of high-quality, user-friendly reverb, delay and modulation algorithms with instrument-specific presets for speedy setup. Selected units feature our new FX Assist tool, automatically shaping the effects and dynamically responding to your input signal to ensure your mix is enhanced by FX, not engulfed. CQ’s Feedback Assistant automatically detects and eliminates problem frequencies using up to 16 filters per output so you can mix with confidence – and forget about feedback. CQ makes it easy to handle multiple channels simultaneously with 4 DCAs, each capable of controlling the level of any combination of inputs, outputs, and FX, for simple single-fader control of multiple channels, such as a drum kit, without affecting their relative levels.
